Hospital patient safety initiative expands in Kansas
More than 100 Kansas hospitals statewide have joined or renewed their commitment to a national patient safety initiative in 2014, according to officials at the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative (KHC). KHC, a non-profit organization based in Topeka, is the designee of the Kansas Hospital Association to administer the Kansas Hospital Engagement Network (HEN). While 11 hospitals are new to the Kansas HEN, 90 are expanding their efforts into a third year. (A list of hospitals is attached.)
Kansas Hospitals Succeeding in the Fight Against Healthcare-Associated Infections
In late September, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) released the first statewide report on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), highlighting Kansas hospitals’ successful efforts to reduce the occurrence of this public health problem.
