The Kansas Healthcare Collaborative is pleased to announce keynote speakers for the Sixth Annual Summit on Quality, scheduled for October 17, 2014, at the Wichita Marriott, Wichita, KS.
This year we are excited to present:
- Eric A. Coleman, MD, MPH, Director of the Care Transitions Program, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus; 2012 MacArthur Fellow; and
- Quint Studer, Studer Group Founder (recipient of 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award); author of seven best-selling leadership and business books.
Coleman is a Professor of Medicine and Head of the Division of Health Care Policy and Research at the University of Colorado, Denver. He is a leader in geriatric and chronic disease care whose work focuses on the miscommunications and errors that occur as patients transition from hospitals to post-discharge homes, sub-acute care facilities, or other sites of care. His Care Transitions Intervention, led by nurses and social workers trained as Care Transitions Coaches, equips patients and caregivers with critical knowledge and skills to enable self-care following discharge.
Studer is the founder of Studer Group, known for its work with organizations to achieve, sustain and accelerate performance in service and quality. With more than 29 years’ experience in the health care field, he is considered a national health care leader and known for creating and sharing best practices with hundreds of health care professionals. Inc. Magazine named Studer its Master of Business, making him the only health care leader to have ever won this award. Twice Modern Healthcare has chosen him as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare. In March 2014 he was named one of the 40 smartest people in health care today by Becker’s Hospital Review.
An invitation to submit proposals for break-out sessions and poster presentations will be issued in May.
