Jacqueline John, Chair of the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative Board of Directors, received the first KHC Leadership in Quality Award. She received the award during the 2012 Summit on Quality, October 19, in Wichita. The award was presented by Kendra Tinsley, Executive Director of the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative.
John was named as a founding board member of KHC in 2009 and has served as chair of the board since December 2010.
"Jackie has been an outstanding member of our board of directors," said Tinsley. "She demonstrates exceptional leadership for this organization, and is a tireless champion of health care quality initiatives throughout Kansas. She sets an example for all of us by promoting a culture of continuous improvement in quality."
John has served since 1989 as vice president for resource development and vice president for regional operations for the Great Plains Health Alliance, Inc., Phillipsburg. She has a nursing degree from Ft. Hays State College and holds a certificate in hospital administration from the University of Minnesota. She is a native Kansan and has worked in the health care industry for more than 30 years.
The Leadership in Quality Award will be presented annually by KHC in recognition of health care providers and organizations which have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in quality. Nomination guidelines, award categories and deadlines will be posted on the KHC website by February 1, 2013.
