July 30 Kansas HEN webinar to focus on ADE data strategies
Be sure to join the Kansas HEN webinar this Wednesday, July 30, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. CT. The educational segment will focus on effective data strategies for adverse drug events. Guest speaker will be Cheryl Ruble, MS, RN, CNS, improvement advisor with Cynosure Health. As always, KHC staff will provide an overview on our progress to date and update you on resources available through the HEN. Registration now open for KHC Introduction to Lean workshops
Registration is now open for an encore performance of the one-day workshop, Introduction to Lean in Healthcare. The workshop will be offered in two locations: in Topeka Thursday, August 28, and a repeat session in Hutchinson on Friday, August 29. Space is limited. Facilities can enroll up to three participants and two observers.
The workshop provides an overview and hands-on experience applying Lean philosophies and tools. It is designed for hospital leaders who desire to understand the concepts and tools necessary to add customer value and process efficiencies throughout their organization in support of their patient safety improvement program. Instructors are Lean-certified personnel at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute. -- Michele Clark
Nominate your coworkers for KHC Leadership in Quality Awards
Do you know someone who consistently demonstrates outstanding leadership when it comes to patient safety? Do you have a hospital team that has led the pack implementing new patient safety initiatives? Has your hospital made great strides in reducing readmissions by addressing care transitions? Do you have a team that has demonstrated success in reducing hospital acquired infections or conditions?
If you said “Yes!” to any of these questions, then get busy and nominate those individuals or teams for the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative Leadership in Quality Award. AHA/HRET Improvement Leader Fellowship: Session Five - July 30
The fifth virtual session of the AHA/HRET HEN Improvement Leader Fellowship (ILF) is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. CT. The topic this month is teamwork. ADE Re-Boot Camp offered
Registration is now open for the Adverse Drug Event Re-Boot camp, scheduled for Tuesday, August 12 with a repeat on Thursday, August 14, 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. both days. The session will focus on how to use data captured by electronic devices and the use of sedation assessment tools and opioid drug dose equivalency charts.
