A new grant opportunity called Increase the Reach is open to clinics and community-based organizations working to improve health equity in all communities of Kansas. This grant program is administered by the Wichita State University Community Engagement Institute, overseen by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Applications will be accepted starting October 18 with an application due date of November 12. Funding awards get out on December 17.

Funding amounts: Awards are expected to range from $50,000 to $250,000. Smaller awards (minimum $10,000) will also be considered.
Eligible applicants: Applicants must have documented success in reaching vulnerable populations. Eligible organizations include direct service providers such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), safety net clinics, and other state-funded community clinics. Community-based organizations are also encouraged to apply.
Populations served: Emphasis must be placed on populations and geographic areas identified as socially vulnerable with low vaccination rates. Individuals may be from high-risk and underserved populations, including racial and ethnic minority populations and rural communities.
