KHC Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) update

HIIN enrollment

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is very close to achieving its goal of 4,000 participating hospitals.  KHC’s HIIN has set a new record with 117 participating hospitals statewide, compared to 106 in HEN 2.0.

KHC Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) update

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is close to achieving its goal of an unprecedented 4,000 hospitals participating in the new HIIN initiative.  To support CMS’ effort to recruit 107 more hospitals, the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) has extended its enrollment period to February 24.  Kansas is a leader among HRET’s 32 state partners, again ranking among the top two in terms of hospital engagement.  The KHC HIIN has now grown to a network of 115 Kansas hospitals, up from 106 in HEN 2.0.  And more could be added.

Calling for Leadership in Quality nominations

There is just enough time to submit a nomination for the 2017 KHC “Leadership in Quality” Award. The deadline is tonight, January 13 at midnight. The awards will be presented at the 2017 Summit on Quality, to be held May 10 in Wichita, and includes a $5,000 grand prize, sponsored by Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company (KaMMCO).
